Sycamores participate in Indiana Academy of Social Sciences Conference

from Tony Campbell

Two Economics faculty members, Debra Israel and Katrina Davis, brought 10 ISU students to participate in the Indiana Association of Social Sciences (IASS) Conference at Wabash College in Crawfordsville, Indiana on Friday Oct. 13, 2017. This conference experience fulfilled a course requirement for Dr. Israel’s ECON 398/GNDR 401 Gender, Developing Economies and Globalization and Econ 370 Econometrics for the Social Sciences students. Attendance at the IASS professional conference provided an excellent opportunity for students to learn about the broad spectrum of research in the social sciences and to make connections with other students and professionals. Three ISU faculty, and four of the ISU students also presented at the conference this year. Funding for this experience was provided through a course-related domestic travel grant from the Center for Community Engagement, and support for student presenters from the Center for Student Research and Creativity.
