Errett “E.J.” Bozarth, an instructor of aviation at Indiana State, was honored with the state’s highest award, the Sagamore of the Wabash Valley, Wednesday. State Rep. Clyde Kersey presented the award on behalf of Gov. Eric Holcomb.

As a commissioned officer, tactical fighter pilot and flight instructor in the U.S. Marine Corps, Bozarth later worked as a Dallas-based pilot with American Airlines. He joined the Indiana State faculty in 2010. To read more about Bozarth’s life and career, go to
